Thread: Convert fenix 5S/5/5X Plus to D2 Delta S/Delta/Delta PX

Found the firmware file's link in the page source. I didn't realize they were doing that.

Garmin Express now offer 7.10 for "real" D2 Delta watches, where it is possible to successfully update the watch from say 6.10 to 7.10. For the Fenix flashed to D2 Delta, Garmin Express says 7.10 is available but it appears that the update is not transferred to the watch. By downloading from the link in the page source, cited above, and transferring the update to a 6.10 flashed watch, the update installs without issue.

It appears that Garmin Express knows the difference between a real D2 Delta and one that was flashed, perhaps by looking at the serial number. Also notable is that Express for my flashed Fenix does not show a link that is shown for a real D2 Delta, where the link is to the web site with chart updates.

Overall not a problem as long as one keep track of updates and manually transfers them onto the flashed Fenix.
