It seems that Garmin has created greeklish for this device not Greek language. Greeklish is when you write Greek words with Latin characters. This is not the first time, Kenwood devices like DDX 6029 with KNA G520 use the same language files ...

You are absolutely right! This device (as many other old device) do not have a full support of Unicode. That is why it operate only with standard latin character set.
Only one way for normal greek symbols it is implant greek symbols into software source with replacing a some standard latin character set symbols. By this way a Russian software was made for this device. One comment - for non-latin symbols it is necessary to replace a some standard latin character set symbols with greek symbols. As example we lost some diacritic symbols for Russian SW and could see д instead in Europe. In case of native greek alphabet the number symbols of not corresponding with latin character set is more significant.

Love your wife? Buy yourself a GPS for answering to her favorite question: "Dear, where are you?".
