    as it's not my unit, may i ask, if the nuvi40 supports Junction view or not

    yes but there is a specific file you need for the 30/40/50
    and the filename depends on the map version, they are a matched set

    The 40 that was stuck on logo was a US/EU model, and I see you've listed your 'Location' as Austria & Thailand. If you use it with a Thai map, the associated TH JCV won't work as the Asian JCV files are encrypted to only work with the corresponding Asian fw.
