The 40 that was stuck on logo was a US/EU model, and I see you've listed your 'Location' as Austria & Thailand. If you use it with a Thai map, the associated TH JCV won't work as the Asian JCV files are encrypted to only work with the corresponding Asian fw.

the nuvi 40 is not my unit, it's a friends unit and bought in Austria.

Which specific file do i need to get JCV running?

I put the 2014.10 map on it, and it works, but does not show JCV.

My 37xx bought in Bangkok shows Thai JCV and 3D from the Thai map, from Europe only JCV, no 3D

I suppose you mean you put the CNNT 2014.10 [non-unicode] on it. If so, unfortunately you wont find a x0/x2 JCV file for that, Garmin doesn't make one. The EU Unicode 2014.10 is the one that Garmin puts as OEM on the x0/x2 series. There is a jcv available for it, D3589080A.JCV available in Post #1 of [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]. I'd suggest dl that map and it's associated jcv file if you want to have JC Views.

For 2014.10 JCV for nuvi 30/40/50 not available, you must wait that someone will upload it.

thx a lot, will dL and give it a try. On my 3770 the link from neil works flawlessly i DL it 2 days ago.....

Either of those map types will work flawlessly in modern Nuvis such as both your 3770 and your friend's 40. It's just that there is no such thing as a JCV file for the EU [non-unicode] map that will work in the x0 but there is for the 37x0. But for the EUU [unicode] map there are jcv files specific for both models.
Sorry for any confusion caused by my mixing up the 2 links and thx to Loly for sorting it out.

i want to say thank you again, i DL the unicode map and the responding JCV file for the nuvi 40 and it works perfect.

my friend will be happy sure :D
