Tried and I can open that file with GIR editor. But my Nuvi is a 715, from 7x5 series. Is that file compatible?
Thanks!

Thank you both! I downloaded the BMW logo for the 715 from the first post. Opened it with GIR editor, extracted the two images, edited them to my liking, repacked them on the .bin, then I extracted my logo.bin from my GCD, made a RGN with my logo.bin and the custom bin, sideloaded it with the Updater.exe and now it's working like a charm! Thank you very much!
Great that you took the trouble to do that. But the thing is that the file "715_BMW_logo.bin" could have been flashed directly to your 715 as it is in fact a US/EU standard logo.bin with it's images replaced by edited [down-sized] ones from 16.bin in the kit "BMW_3760_Logo_microSD_update" ["Nuvi 37xx BMW logo" in the logo download thread]. I had actually made and posted 715_BMW_logo.rar there in case that was what you wanted. Nevertheless, it's a fun exercise to do what you've done and I'd guess you now have 480x288 pixel fullscreen splash rather than the 'letter-box' 480x212 picture size to which the standard US/EU logo bin is limited, like this:

If you'd be so kind as to upload your 715's original logo bin here, i'd really appreciate it. I want to compare the rest of it to the standard one loaded to other nuvi 7x5 devices [Garmin branded units]. Thanks in advance.
Also, are there any features you've noticed lacking in the BMW 715 unit that are available in the standard nuvi 765? If so, it might be possible to activate them with a different logo flash as can be done with EU 710, US/EU 205/W, 1xxx and some 2xx/W.

I edited the BMW logo file you talked me about because I wanted to do a custom BMW logo for an old BMW, as mine had the BMW inscription with the Xdrive logo (I think it come off from a BMW X3).
About the features, I don't know much about those devices. As far as I can see, it has MP3 player, photo gallery, FM transmitter, Junction View (although the button says Lane Assistant).
Soon I'm going to experiment with it's cradle to see If I can get to make it output sound through the cradle connector to connect it to the car audio system and convert this nice unit into a handsfree unit for my car.
This is the logo.bin file I extracted from the update file from my unit, although I'm afraid it's not the proper file. Please make me know, as I'll help as much as I can.
Thank you

Thanks for the reply Dani. Unfortunately you're correct, that's not the file that i want. What you've attached is the boot bin from your gupdate.gcd. I'm wanting the logo bin which isn't usually in the GCD file. but we can get it by copying the unit's region 16.
I'm still not sure if (i) you if you edited the images in your original logo bin and flashed it back, or (ii) you edited mine and flashed it.
If it was (i) that you did as i hope, i'd like to get a copy of it if possible. Kindly compress your logo bin to a zip or rar file and then upload it here as an attachment.
if you haven't kept a copy, I've made a kit for you to easily take a copy from the 715. Don't be concerned that it might cause any harm. It can't because it will only copy region 16 [the logo region] from your unit to the SD card and it doesn't write anything new to the unit.
Just extract the zip file behind the Spoiler directly to a clean SD card, insert it with the unit off then turn it on. Loading info will appear on the screen and the unit should reboot when it's finished. Some 7xx devices will hang with 'parsing reboot' on the screen. If it does, just remove the SD from the slot and force the unit off by holding the power button to the left until it turns off or reboots.
Spoiler:
A new file, named 16.bin, will be in the SD root below the Garmin folder.
There's no hurry at all for this. I'm away at present as smokefree kindly posted to advise and i won't have access to the PC to examine your logo bin for a few days anyway.

Thank you! Done it, but the "problem" is, the boot logo that it is on the 16.bin file is the one I edited, not the original image that the unit had. Seems like I lost it
Anyway here it goes, if it's of any help.
Ok. Thanks for your co-operation anyway, it's much appreciated.
Best practice is to always make a copy of any non-volatile regions using 'rrgn' script before overwriting them. That way you can write the original back using 'xrgn' if something goes wrong. Region 16 isn't critical because we can usually obtain a compatible copy from somewhere to flash anyway as you've just found out. However, a region such as 41 in your 715 contains specific information for your individual unit. Should it become corrupted it's possible to write back a copy, even a very old copy, of your unit's rgn41 and restore that crucially unit-specific info. So before you forget, go to [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] and make a copy of your rgn41.
