Read the first post again. Any device with a non-vol region will have it in either 41 or 154. Your result shows 'success' for rgn41 and 'error' for rgn154 so yours is in 41.

Im going a bit crosseyed with how chicken & egg this comes across...
I get:
1-Create a "Garmin" folder in an empty sd.
2-In Garmin directory create a directory named "Updater".
3-In Updater create a directory named as your nuvi HWID number, it must be 4 digits eg: 0971
I Do NOT get:
4-In the above folder copy Ldr.bin . What is Ldr.bin? It is your firmware boot.bin you can extract with RGN_tool
Ive got a nuvicam & Ive been peeking around on the nuvi all over to find boot.bin & no dice. I tried using the nuviCam_360.gcd file from garmin, but that seems to conflict with "your nuvi "personal" backup" since it came from Garmin & NOT from MY nuvi
MTP Mass storage & RWFS have both been enabled, yet Im still not seeing boot.bin anywhere?
You cannot 'see' the boot.bin, it's not part of the file system. It's a component of the firmware file, so open "nuviCam_360.gcd" with RGN_Tool (attached below) and save the first section as Ldr.bin. Look at the pic in initial post of how to do it.
Good ol' overlay filesystems... :/
Yea, that was about the only way that I COULD get visibility of that file -but somewhere they were saying that this is supposed to be content from MY nuvi, inclusive of licensing, serials, yadda yadda yadda?
The file GUPDATE.GCD is usually on-board in the (usually hidden) .System folder, but it's not always present. You can unhide protected system files and other hidden files and folders in Windows via Control Panel>File Explorer Options (or Folder Options depending on OS version)>View.
Excuse for dullness! Point 4 is not clear to me: Where to take me the ldr.bin file? Boot.bin, we receive by means of the RGN_Tool program, having pressed the SAVE button. But the program needs to specify something in the beginning?
Dear Admin, is it possible to update the link for the RGN_tool program in post#1 please? It is a dead link - and I had to read 254 more posts to find it in post 255. Then you may delete this post -THANKS :-)
Thanks. Latest version attached in initial post. Please use "Report Post" button on the problem post preferably (exclamation mark in grey triangle) rather than posting like this. We can't review every single post in every thread but we won't miss a Reported Post.
