No worries, enjoy your trip and stay stay safe [that means as far away from the cagers as possible lol].

Your NA 2015.20: Is that a shortcut under 2GiB or the full mapset over 2GiB? If the latter, that means 4.70 reads up to the FAT32 limit of course .

It might be a bug, but i wonder why only GW Navi units are affected in that case. If gcscott01 is correct and it's got the old Atari type of block-write protection maybe it was just easier for them to stuff up the poi search than the address search or the entire mapping. I'm not a programmer so that's just uneducated rambling ......

As I said, the fact that you were able to add a new unl code to your OEM card and not lose poi search with the replacement board seems to show that the protection was not present on the non-NT cards. Therefore stripping out an existing code and replacing it shouldn't disable poi search either.

Just reply when you can Mate.

I'm back but I don't at this time see how I can be of any help to you Neil. If I can please let me know. For me this is a brain teaser only that would be fun to solve.

use the Jetmouse key generating program from this board. In your goldwing menu goto the info/system screen . It will display the firmware version, maps and the serial # of your nav board. Put the serial #in the Jetmouse key generator to generate your unlock key.

PS Had a great 10K mile trip. Almost didn't make it back due to a flash flood in the Mojave desert but that just made it more memorable.

I found a good copy of firmware 4.70 for my 2007 Goldwing. Maps map but POI searches do not work as expected. Too much to read but did a fix for this ever come about? I seem to doubt it. Anybody figure out why this is happening? Not too sure, at the time of this posting what was meant by the board programming blah, blah, blah!

By 'board programming' are you referring to this?:

If so, jinxxxxxx is saying to use the JM keygen available from this 'board' [aka 'forum']: [Only registered and activated users can see links. ].

What is it supposed to do? Fix the search feature or strictly unlock the map? Perhaps maybe unlock the map so that POI's work? If so, I'll check it out!
