ok, so managed to get the GarminCure3 file running on my old PC.

If I try and run the updater I get the error message saying

No update files could be found

Please re-run updater from the command line and specify the directory containing the update file as a command line parameter.

All of which is gooble de gook to me.

So how do I proceed from here???

    Thanks

ok, i seem to be getting somewhere now

I've now managed to get the file onto the GarminCure tool and it has now processed the firmware.

It is showing a file in the "Output file" box ( a .rgn file)

    What do I do now?

    Hi Lolypop, Catymag,

The software update has now finished (successfully) and the PC now sees my Garmin connected via USB.

The Garmin is still connected and the screen simply shows the Garmin name.

So do I now disconnect and switch on as normal? And should the device now be back to it former self??

    Cheers

Aghh! What am I doing wrong??

Since following the instructions above for the GarminCure3 tool, I managed to update mu Nuvi 1310 with the latest software from Lolypop's link. It loaded successfully using the updater tool and then the screen on the Nuvi displayed Garmin.

Since then I disconnected, turned the unit off then back on. The device starts up but only shows the initial screen ( the one with the cat picture) Nothing else!!! It just stays there.

I did then connect to Garmin web updater which stated I need a newer version. Succesfully did that then it told me to disconnect and restart device.

Nothing ! Same as above it just stays on the cat screen

Have I updated with the wrong firmware or something?

    Please help??
