You may now need to load a basemap to the internal memory. GarminExpress and WebUpdater won't offer a replacement after the re-formatting. [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]. Small non-DEM version in Post #28 there. Or if you thought to backup once you had MSM back before the original formatting with Low Level Format Tool, you can use the original gmapbmap.img from there. BTW, don't use the Windows built-in format tool with Garmin devices, the device's proprietary OS doesn't like it usually. Also NEVER use a Mac.

OK, my friend loaded a map onto micro SD card and made a bicycle trip. Garmin works OK.
But can you explain why the smartphones have damaged the two navi devices? And is there a safe way to load a .gpx track into older Garmin bicycle navi during a trip?
