Please help,

My iunit is 3790T, Caould you please help me to bring my unit as it was, since I screwed up while trying to convert from 3790 to 3490, and unfortunately I have formatted my unit several times and I dont have any back up. I have downloaded 3790 GUPDATE.gcd from garmin website, and I convert GCD file to RGN, load the image with updater and Tthe unit is fine now, as well i have loaded the img maps,3d maps and JCV to my unit, what is confusing me is that I don't know my HWID number and I dont know are the all features working properly such as 3D buildings, lane assistant and the rest. i have saved RGN file as a log.bin and when i open that file with Mod3_333 only few are ticked from the 3D buildings , lanes assistant etc. how to do that all thigs to work and save them to my unit.

Long time ago I converted my 3760 to 34xx. EuropaDem and 3D is working but I am challenged with the ASR-files. Now the device is updated to 8.10 but unfortunately I cannot find a working ASR condition, half of the options (search address, junction etc.) doesn't work (this feature is not available in your language). I learned I need the files which are intended for the device. I guess in my case the 34xx asr-files? But this questions isn't so easy to answer because the GarminDevice.xml points only 3760 out. I cannot find any other similar number. The behavior is like a 34xx device. At the moment cne ntu 2014.40 is set, but asr doesn't work as intended. Even a garminexpress update for my language did not solve the problem. At the moment I have two different asr sets 046urd3X.asr/srx and 04b4nkzX.asr/srx.

Does anybody knows a solution. I would be glad for some hints. Thanks in advance.

By the way: How is mapupdate working? I guess there is a unitid required to proceed, I cannot imagine that everybody is allowed to update there maps for free.

To have ASR working run Webupdater and load full CNEU NTU. Files are posted in Maps section thread.
Converted 37xx to 34xx with MU or Wu downloads files for 34xx.
34xx uses CNEU NTU and related addition files of the corresponding version.

Mapupdater downloads a map update if you are an entitled user, that is if you have a lifetime update license or if you buy a one time update coupon.
These infos are written in myGarmin page where your device is registered and in garmindevice.xml in your nuvi.

As catymag mentioned, to obtain the complete use of Voice Command, you must have full coverage of Europe mapping loaded. Even one tile missing will limit voice command and you will receive the message '[Only registered and activated users can see links. ] for xxxxxx'. You also need to have the language specific SRD file in the unit's ASR folder. e.g. for German you need de_DE.srd loaded and teamed with a suitable Deutsch TTS voice selected [Steffi or Yannick].

The ASR/SRX files you've mentioned are not the map specific ones for the 2014.40 EUU map. Best to remove all old unused asr/srx files from the unit. The correct files are available in [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] of the EUU 2014.40 thread.

Thank you, you made my day it perfectly worked out. But just in chase for the future. Is there any way to figure out the right set of asr files for a device? I haven't recognized any code inside the filenames that might indicate the intended model.

Also a big thanks for the quick reply. Too be honest the note about MU and wu downloads were a bit confusing for me. My knowledge seems a bit rusty.

General question: The G2S feature is only used by 37xx models. Am I right? But the SQLite feature is just by both? Which is the right set. There are two different files D317400.db and D3413120A.db. Is it just copy and paste to the SQLite folder. Are any deletes required? Their are a bunch of files inside. Thanks in advance.

Did you know asr is working from SD (Garmin/asr) but only if the .srd files is still stored on .system/asr?

34xx downloads only files for 34xx, even if it's a (converted) 37xx, this is clearly written in starting post and all over this thread.
