I'm having difficulty getting into preboot on my 3750 after flashing 34xx. The first time I got into preboot it was easy, it happened the first time; I flashed without problem. Now one of every 10 tries I can get system to flash for about 5 seconds before loading maps appears. The other 9/10 it boots up normally.

Edit: I can't get it into preboot at all now. I've measured to the spot where I am supposed to be pressing on the screen but nothing happens.

Ok, but should I still be able to see system flashing a few times to indicate it is in preboot mode while not connected to the computer?

Wait until you see Garmin logo before pressing upper left hand corner.
    Must press before copyright.
I think you pressing too early.

For Hard Reset wait for Loading Maps to appear and then press lower right corner

Because I went 37xx>34xx I don't see a Garmin Logo, that's what I'm trying to install. Has the location moved from the flash? When I did preboot just a few hours ago, I pressed at the 40mmx25mm location as depicted in the graphic in the OP.

I'm trying what you suggest but the copyright is still coming up.

    I press power
Wait 2 seconds, press and hold in top left
a few seconds later copyright comes up

Now i understand your problem. You need to connect usb quickly when holding over the 'G', and then to also start flashing with Updater.exe quickly.

    1).drag rgn drop on updater.exe
    2).***connect nuvi-USB-computer***
    3).power on nuvi
    4).press
6).just notice updater see your nuvi then just click ok.

Easier. ( compare with connect USB after press)

Please specify what do you mean by:
    4).press
    Press what?
    Thanks.
BTW When making transformation 37xx->34xx I prefer flash the whole 34xx firmware with new logo already included. For me it's much more easier.

Press and hold above the "G". You can use the graphic in the OP as a guide to find it.

The trouble is I don't see a 'G'. The boot logo is gone from flashing 34xx. I try to press both the 40mmx25mm location (the one that worked originally) and the upper left hand corner. I have tried this before pressing power, and 1 and 2 seconds after pressing power. I then immediately insert USB in all these cases. Nothing works, the device just goes into MTP mode.

Edit: It worked! This time I waited until after pressing power, and then immediately press at the 40mmx25mm location (it seems smaller this time), connected USB, hit flash and voila successful!

Now it is saying software loading... should I reboot by long pressing power?
