34xx is a newer device, one generation ahead of 37xx. It is upgrade. It's like you swap old and abandoned 37xx in favor of new device, which gets full support from Garmin

But what hardware upgrade does the 34xx device offer compared to the 37xx?

Ok, now I understand. But.... that means no NV backup done as 3790 i guess. Tut tut... and now i know why your nick was familiar, the nv backup thread (the penny just dropped).

Yeah. I figured that since I haven't backed up it in the past when I tried an SG/Mal 3790 firmware, then if I back it up now it isn't a virgin NV backup anyway. Still, I will buy a microsd asap to backup my NV. Is it useless to backup my NV when I'm using a 34xx firmware for my 3790? Should I revert to 37xx first?

Great! Thanks aekhong for the info

I can't believe that I don't have a simple microsd yet I have a NAS server that has a 15TB storage space, lol.

Do an NV backup of your unit as 3490 after clearing non-vol a couple of times. That will protect you as 3490. If you then go back to 37, do the same. Non-vol backup is always worthwhile, but like any insurance you really hope you don't need it.

PS: I'll swap you a few 4GiB microSDs for that NAS of yours...

News for VIA point routing capability of 3760>3490 (fw7.80)

Now works with English language too!

    I changed Language to English.
    I did a hard reset.
Nuvi turned on with English Text
Where to? -> Favorites -> select a point (.EΛINA) as Destination, press GO, the Route is calculated and I start driving.
Again Where to? -> Favorites -> select another point (Αργω) as VIA point, press GO, I now have the options to "Start a New Route" or to "Add to Active Route".
I choose "Add to Active Route", I don't edit the order of the list and the VIA point Route is recalculated with an orange flag at the VIA point.
On the Directions page I now have a Route with two legs.
If I press thε green GO button of the second leg, the first leg (VIA point) disappears, and my Route is recalculated again from my current postion to my original Destination (.ΕΛΙΝΑ)
