NV is intended to be a region 41. Put a region 41 copy from backup on SD card in root folder.
From SD card execute script:

xrgn,41,1:/41.bin
reboot

Where 41.bin region 41 backup file.
You must be very careful because you can brick your Nuvi.

The right command for write region 41 back is:

xrgn,41,1:/41.bin
reboot

for backup is:

rrgn,41,1:/41.bin
reboot

If you stop mentioning changing id in this context (34,41) then barely anyone would find this way.
I frequently encounter Garmin devices with corrupted NV (after playing with different firmware versions), and clearing it is the only reliable method of curing.
So the way of clearing/restoring NV should be publicly known. (Unless we want to make as much money as possible by keeping it secret as long as possible).

We appreciate members who share their knowledge for helping users with bricked units.
Or do you prefere they send them to Garmin ,spend their time,money and have back refurbished units?

So he means that changing the id is way to cloning device and hacking of their maps as a result of this.

No, 34xx ones are different, you must download them with map with Mapupdater or find them on forum in CNs threads

@Alviora - We understand your concern, but nobody will help in cloning or in removing pins or similar.
