Are you sure it is MT5331. Maybe you meant MT3351? (MediaTek CPU)

Hi everybody!! first of all, thanks a lot for this post.
I did this to my 3760t, and when it boots the garmin logo appear in the middle, then goes up for a while and then moves to the middle again.
    How can I solve this?
Also, I dont have free memory in the unit, I had to install USA updated maps 2012 into an SD card? this is normal? or I can get free space in the unit?
    Thanks!

If your 3670t has small internal memory like mine (1,72 Gb) you cannot have both InstaSearch (SID folder) and voiceCommand (ASR folder) at the same time.
Erase all the voices from VOICE folder that you don't need.
Do the same from KEYBOARDS folder, to free some space.

Go in Hidden and Protected System folder .SYSTEM and erase any previous JCV folder.
On sdCard create folder \GARMIN and copy inside the new JCV folder ([Only registered and activated users can see links. ]).
On sdCard, in MAP folder copy the map of USA (gmapprom.img), 3d-Buildings (Gmap3d.img) and 3d-Terrain ([Only registered and activated users can see links. ]) for USA.

On device, in GARMIN folder copy the attached files from post#1 to enable all features and restart Nuvi.
In .SYSTEM folder create ASR folder and SID folder.
Copy from [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] the sid files.

If you want to try VoiceCommand, connect with WebUpdater and choose to install additionaly only US voice commands (en_US.srd)
Don't install other Voices or Keyboards that you erased previously.
Because you don't have enough space on device, move now the ASR folder to sdCard\GARMIN\ASR and copy in there the needed ASR files from [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

If the VoiceCommand dosen't work from the sdCard, move the SID folder from the device to the sdCard\GARMIN and move back on device, in .SYSTEM\ASR the ASR folder.

I don't have VoiceCommand in my language, so I keep SID in my device.

On device, in .SYSTEM\SQlite folder copy D3397020A.DB file and not any other ****.DB or ****.G2S files because they are for other devices.

If your 3760 came with USA maps preinstalled, then you have all the space you need on device.
Just erase the old files from .SYSTEM and replace them with the new ones:
gmapprom.img, Gmap3d.img, gmaptz.img, JCV folder, ASR folder as above (different files for 34xx) and create the SID folder as above.
    The gmapDEM.img is the same.
Again, in device, in .SYSTEM\SQlite folder copy the new D3397020A.DB file and not any other ****.DB or ****.G2S files because they are for other devices.

Thanks a lot for your quick answer.!

Does your unit the same problem than mine, when I start it, the garmin logo moves a bit up, and then goes to original position. Can it be solved?

No it dosen't, but I don't think it's a big deal to worry about.
Compared to our "old" 3760T, the new 3490T is a different kind of...beast!!!

    Ps.
Take care and put as many "shortcuts' as you can on the "Where to" search menu, because like others, the green "+" sign has mysteriously disappeared one day and I didn't want to install the same firmware to check if it could be fixed.
I' ll wait for a new fimware...

Would someone PLEASE post a precise tutorial on how to successfuly convert a 3790t to a 3490t? I have read through all these threads and I see nothing but probematic transfers/conversions... Please someone honor my request. I am sure many people share my sentiments. waiting:

I think lolypop000 is being too polite ..... what he really means is if you do not understand the tut (clear & concise imo) and/or the individual problems and how they are addressed in the thread then you really should not attempt this at all. The guys posting here are not only knowegable but also very helpful and if you run into trouble they will help you out provided you have sufficient base knowledge to comprehend their advice.
If you're not sure, don't try it until you're satisfied with what's going on .

    Lolypop000 and Neil,

Thanks for the insightful/constructive feedback. I am good with instruction and appreciate all the contributers to this fine post and website. It appears that a miniscule number of users that attempted this conversion, ran into issues/problems along the lines and decided to revert. The flashing process is quite fragile but it's fully attainable.

I understand the process and want to implement it. My emphasis is solely concerning the aftermath of this process and the issues various people (that attempted this) have encountered. The tutorial in the first post is really helpful. I am just concerned with the conclusion of the task...

    3790t ---> 3490t Firmware : eager to attain.
