So exactly which boot it is? form 37xx with HID 1376 or original form 34xx with no changes?

I agree that nuvi 37xx is very resilient for foreign firmware. The only problem is, that sometimes it doesn't want to start at all
Last time it started only after hard reset when connected to PC.

    hwid 1376 on 37xx.
I'd like to say 37xx is never die.
I faced 37xx with black screen., no logo.., nothing on screen but "a little light" that let me access into preboot mode.
So if your 37xx is dead and you don't want to get it then you can throw it to me.

For a specific reason I'm trying flashing my 3790 (v5.00fw) to 3490 (v7.80fw), but with the original boot.ini of 3790, or with original boot.ini hwid 1101 or modified to 1376.
At the post of Aekong would be possible, but I tested this and other alternatives and did not work. I've made several attempts and none successfully.

With the original boot.ini of 3790 (hwid 1101) and fw_all to 1101 of 3490, was the worst, black screen, no signal. With the boot.ini of 3790 with hwid mod to 1376 + 3490 fw_all original, gets locked in the Garmin Logo (probably logo of 3790) and appears “software missing”.

My question: is possible to delete the logo Garmin of 3790 and immediately flashing to 3490 (with any fw) in reboot? If the Logo seems to be the problem, deleting it previously, in any circumstance, the gps can boot if the remainder fw file is ok? and If the flashing is feasible with older firmware, as of the time the tests that Aekong did, would it be viable a old boot.ini of 3790 with modern fw_all of 3490, both with hwid mod to 1376?

On 34xx we can enable ASR and DEM shading. Patching area in firmware 3.50 is at address D9750D:

    D9750C: 00 01
    D9750E: 00 00
    D97510: CE 0E
    D97512: 00 00
    D97514: CE 0E
    D97516: 00 00
    D97518: CE 0E
    D9751A: 00 00

    For 3760 (B0 0E) I have patched like this:

    D9750C: B0 0E - this is ASR
    D9750E: 00 00
    D97510: B0 0E
    D97512: 00 00
    D97514: B0 0E
    D97516: 00 00
    D97518: B0 0E
    D9751A: 00 00

Now 3760@34xx shows suppor for 3D and DEM maps in GarminDevice.xml, but it doesn't work correctly. I get only DEM shading but no 3D terrain. There is no 3D buildings, only flat bases of 3D models appear.

ASR works after downloading *.srd files with WebUpdater. These are different files than for 37xx, here list form GarminDevice.xml

Me too. I killed logo, resource file (gir) and even firmware. I never bricked it and it still works like a charm. Just put back the original firmware if you have an issue.
