The initial Garmin software release for MTK model of 2x5 was nuvi2x5_MTKregionfileonly__600.gcd

Hi Gomen,

Please allow me one question do you still have a copy of the nuvi2x5_MTKregionfileonly__600.gcd file? Could you please share it. I'm looking for that file or MKT__530 for my nuvi unit ID 1074.

I would appreciate if you could advice me where I could download it

But I repeat what there are no early versions for Nuvi 2x5 MTK! Version 6.00 is initial official release. Version 5.30 for MTK chipset is not exist in nature and I ready to put my head on rail if it is no truth

I took your word for granted. I recall a request made to garmin for a replacement unit and the software version was 5.30 but I accept that I could not prove that such version was for a MTK chipset. Unfortunately I did not make a back-up of my old unit to verify it was a MTK. I could downgrade my nuvi 205 with this file. But, the occasional issue of route line incomplete or discontinuos is sitill present in my nuvi.

I have an nuvi 245 (HWID 1074). Can you reupload please nuvi2x5_MTKregionfileonly__600.gcd file to a different place (multiupload is down)?

Also you may to quick check GPS chipset type in menu in device info. For MTK it must be 2.00m and for not-MTK is 4.10b (or lower version with the same letter b at the end).
