Give this a try:
Copy Main folder Garmin to:
/storage/emulated/0/
So the path will be: /storage/emulated/0/Garmin
Copy the unlocked .img to
/storage/emulated/0/Garmin/Map/
So the path will be: /storage/emulated/0/Garmin/Map/gmapsupp.img
Thank you for your answer, the maps are not locked, i have used them before with SP on android 4.4 on another phone.
What I am most concerned is that I place the Garmin folder in the wrong location.
PLEASE, WHERE EXACTLY should I place the folder Garmin? ('root' explanation not enough, please indicate full address)

Thank you for your messaage.
I checked with ES File explorer and the Garmin folder is located where you said it should, and the map was in the map folder.
It was a specific ROAD2008 (garmin) map, and I renamed it gmapsupp.
Upon starting SP I got the same result.
Startup of Garmin brought the message that "cannot unlock map", then no maps are located on this device and a detailed map is necessary for navigating.
The map is not locked. I used it previously, on streetpilot on android 4.x
So.... I'm left wandering...
I will try a different map....
Other ideas, guys?
cheers.
Later edit: I tried another map, it is working, thank you guyz, it was a problem with the map.

Hello.
Using the info here I was able to get garmin streetpilot going (this: SP2.33_new_sdcard_for_Android 7.12, 8.0, 8.1, 9.0_ All language_by_Titanic), then I installed the erweiterte stuff from Titanic (thanks, dude, for all your work on this), as well as City Navigator Europe NT 2019.20 maps, unlocked prior to copying. Everything works as it should on a huawei with android 8.1, map is correctly identified by the app and displayed, save one thing: the search by street names is totally useless. As opposed to my ancient stand-alone garmin device, where you have to key in country>city>street and number (in that order), here you can type in only street name (or any other search term)...or this app uses totally different search logic. Either way, if I type in a certain street name, I get few results in cities hundreds of kilometers away, although it says it's searching in my vicinity.
Either I'm too dull to use this app or this app can't access street name data in NT maps.
Help, please. And thanks in advance.
The Search has been broken in almost all versions of Street pilot for Android. The only version that worked for me was v2.35 but it only works on Android 4.2 to 5.1 and nothing newer.
Agreed, I have tried every version available and nothing works for Android 6 and above.
