    Additionally, it was not possible to do in MS either what you're now wanting to do in BC/MI using a GMAPTool split [simple preview] map without losing search function, if that's what you meant by this:
    Is it now possible to install parts of a map to my gps if I use a virtual drive, like it was possible in mapsource

    Indeed, this was what I meant because City navigator europe NT is 3.4gb.
    I don't need most of the time cards of hole Europe! Only a few countries on my outdoor gps.
