I downloaded 2 x the locked versions for mapinstall from post 1 (Monterra) and also 1x the 8 files from Pietu from post 2.
In all cases I got the same error as shown in post 14; moving the MDR folder into the main directory did solve the problem and
I could install the locked version for Mapsource.
Unlocking went fine with the Jetmouse keygenerator and allows the Europe CN 2014.40 NT to be seen without problems in Mapsource and in Basecamp.
But that's not the real problem
When I try to select the regions in Mapsource for transfer to my Garmin unit, I immediately get and an error, and Mapsource gets stuck; only an taskmanager instruction to end the program helps.
Using the latest patched version of Mapinstall (4.04) does not show the map in Mapinstall; although I can see older installed maps.
Reading through [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] and specific post 29 from Pietu:
I re-installed Mapinstall and replaced the Mapinstall.exe with the patched exe file .
I did add all unlock codes of my maps in an ucx-file and placed them in the folder where the maps are located (c:\ProgramData\Garmin\Maps) but did does not work either.
What Am I doing wrong, or did Garmin plug the holes in their software so we can not use the old tricks anymore?
Had the same crashes, it is not Mapsource that's the problem, check where the maps have been installed. Mapsource will give you the directory path , click Utilities, Manage Map Products
Path I have quoted below is Windows 7, yours may be different
I found that the folder CNEuroNT_2014_mdr was placed in the C:/Program Data/Garmin/Maps folder where it should be inside the C:/Program Data/Garmin/Maps/City Navigator Europe NT 2014.400.gmap folder.
Once I placed it inside the City Navigator Europe NT 2014.40.gmap folder there were no more crashes and I was able to select maps and transfer to my device.
I have released version 1.8.0 of ImgTool.
You can download it on my web page :Spoiler: ImgTool 1.8.0
Main changes:
- support of JCV files : ImgTool can display the bitmaps (Raster Junction View and SVG Junction View), change the MapID and show some other details.
(JCV files can be associated to ImgTool)
- correction of a bug in "Batch processing : img files" : up to 2500 maps can be opened in one time; to go further, use the command "Add img files" ...
- Slovenian language file added
- some other bugs fixed
So you can see the differences between the two versions of the JCV file![]()

You have to navigate to get to the good.
Galaxy S5 Kitkat 4.4.2 / Nuvi1200->1250 / Nuvi3790T->34xx / Nuvi 2200 / Nuvi 66 / Oregon 600
The one suggested correction i would offer for your otherwise factual historical account of the origin of the 'reduced views' LaneAssist jcv file is that i strongly suspect as well as syzygy our good friend Cnfhbr could also do the analysis and make an objective judgement.

[Only registered and activated users can see links. ] should make their first post as a new Intro Thread in [Only registered and activated users can see links. ].
Wow, this is a totally NOT boring conversation with Giomen, Neil, Cnfhbr and syzygy !!!!!
If I am not mistaken, the D25xxxxx.JCV file was introduced with only 37xx as (Photoreal) LaneAssistFull (the ..."big" file or "High Resolution") with [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]
All other nuvis (755T, 765T, 775T, 785T, 855, 865T, 885T, 1340, 1340T, 1350T, 1370T, 1390T, 1490T) were still using the D12xxxxx.JCV file.
With [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] Garmin replaced the D12xxxxx.JCV file with a (Photoreal) LaneAssist file D30xxxxx.JCV (the ..."small" file or "Low Resolution" file).
Because this JCV file had half the size of the 37xx JCV file and because all the other nuvis had half the screen resolution (480x272) of the 37xx (800x480), I believed (and I think most of you did too) that the images in the D25xxxxx.JCV file of 37xx were of "High Resoloution 800x480"!!!!!!
How could I ever imagine that Garmin was giving to all the other nuvis (except 37xx) fewer images in their JCV file, or that the images for the 37xx were of "Low Resolution" 480x272 ??????????
Garmin got me fooled for so long....
So, from what I've read above from Giomen, Cnfhbr and syzygy, and to round things up:
- The so called "High Resolution" D25xxxxx.JCV (which in reality contains "Low Resolution 480x270" images) is for 37xx, 13xx and 14xx (according to Giomen after firmware update) and also works OK with 765
- The D30xxxxx.JCV........ what is the use of it, only for nuvis with limited internal memory???
I do not understand what you have some problems with unlock maps and MS. I have no problems .
