Angelo, the ASR files [*.asr & *.srd map files, and en_US.srd] from my 3597LM US unit work fine in my 3590/3490/2595 AU units with unlocked NA map. But i didn't persevere in trying to use TTS3 on them, TTS3 will not work in any series before 2013 and will crash them as you point out, although i didn't brick any unit.

However, everything works normally using ASR files from my 3597 in the ASR capable 2012 models with TTS2. Unless something is different in BR to AU localisation or i've misunderstood you, my experience is that it's simply not a problem to use the asr files from 2013 series in 2012 series provided you only use TTS2. If your plan is to continue trying to get TTS3 working on 2012 series i'm happy to help you with testing, just PM me.

I note the concern with pt_BR.srd not being offered to non-BR localised units, my 3597LM US was not offered Karen or Lee in TTS3 or au_EN.srd either at first but with later fw they're now offered. However, I initially obtained the AU TTS3 voices and srd from other sources and they worked no problem on the US localised unit.

Neil, better analyzing your information accurate, I can deduce that the key seems to be the .srd files, since the ASR and SRX are those related to the map and are the same used in 2012 (34, 35xx . .) devices using the voice command. So would be the case of studying the file pt_br.srd and find ways to match it with their text files and voice TTS2, to enable voice command. Analyzing this and other .srd files noticed that they have a complex structure, most likely encrypted that I could not decipher, perhaps Kunix, Alexander or other specialist can.
So it seems to me that the most feasible way, as I mentioned earlier, is to match the TTS3 in devices 2012. The cause of the crash in our attempts was most likely due to conflict between the TTS3 file and the glx corresponding to the TTS2, reminding that the glx3 singly also cause crash because the inputs are incompatible with firmware 2012. The glx are more easier to handle and maybe that way, laborious but not complicated apparently, for to match the TTS3. So there would be full compatibility between .srd, glx and vpm with voice command.

Sorry, i wasn't disagreeing with you Angelo and in fact i'm certain you're on to something. As stated i'm happy to help privately by PM exchange, but on reflection it's better publicly in a thread dedicated to modding the files to enable TTS3 voices in 2012 series. That way we can get others like kunix and Alex interested as you mentioned and Loly too because i know he already has an interest. He and i did some initial work together privately on enabling ALG and TTS3 on 3590. Goodness know what progress has already been made in the Eastern Bloc that we're unaware off.

You should start a thread mate, 'coz it's your idea about the files interaction. I'll gladly help as much as possible in my usual clumsy way [with testing at the very least ....].

If you are using Javier or Paulina voice you will need es_US.srd in the ASR folder of .System.
