ZPJr, I think the correct file to Nuvi40 is D3599080A.JVC (the old file is D3599070A).
Correct: D3599080A.JCV is for nuvi 40/50

look at old files, as you can see first digits are the same than in old files, you have just the latest increased by 10.

    Hi Catimag,

    Thanks for reply.

Just a note: To use files of Voice command, you have to install CNSA ALL (not just Brazil).

Very strange. The file D3599080A.JCV is not working on my Nuvi 40. Anyone else finding this problem?
    Thank you!

Please post screenshots of your jcv folder. Make sure that file extension is JCV and Not JVC
Check in inventory if the jcv file is listed. If it's not listed it will never work.
Also make sure that map is the only active MAP and is CNSA 2014.30 NT (This JCV will not work with any other Maps)

Big-Shot is correct. 3490, 359x, 259x etc [the 2012 & 2013 nuvi series] use the exact same files so no need to 'adapt' them, the 3597 files will work in all. Just copy & paste to correct folder. Remove old files remaining from previous map versions. Note: Although the 2012 and 2013 series use different TTS voice files, the Automatic Speech Recognition files are common to both.

Those files in Post #6 are the map-related files for this version. To enable different languages for speech recognition, you also need to have the correct *.srd file in the unit's .System/ASR folder [srd files must remain in unit memory, other ASR files can go in a separate ASR folder in the microSD's Garmin folder if you want to save space on the unit]. For example if you want to use AU English voices Karen and Lee, you must have en_AU.srd on your unit. Or en_GB.srd, en_US.srd for the corresponding TTS British/UK and US voices. Same with Spanish, es_ES.srd and es_US.srd etc. These are not required to be changed with each map version as are the map-related files, but you should dl the latest versions using WebUpdater or GarminExpress. My NA 3597 is not offered any Portuguese SRD files though.

Considering the overall area of countries and the size of the many large cities included in the map, the JCV file is not very big at ~36MB. Try simulating a route outbound from a very large city along a major arterial multi-lane road [freeway, expressway] and scroll though the route. But don't expect to see a lot because very few major interchanges/exits have a Junction View even in US and the 3xxx JVC for 2014.20 NA is ~450MB. To put it in context, US & CA have a similar sized total population to SAm [even when you discount Bolivia & Ecuador] at around 350 million.

Well placed Neil, but unfortunately the voice command for Portuguese Br works only in the 3597 officially sold in Brazil. Due to some special identifier, it is the only device that can download the necessary files for the voice command function, also why even the european or NA 3597 don't work with that language. But this problem was easy to solve for 3597 and intermediate series (24, 25x7 ) imported: sufficed just copy the map- related files more the pt_BR.srd file along with the corresponding map to work properly. The challenge is to make the voice command works in the 2012 series (34xx, 35x0, 2xx5). Simply copy the files from the 3597 Br not work. The main obstacle is the TTS voice of the 2013 series, which is incompatible with the 2012 series. Anyone who has ever tried with the new TTS, don't like the result : total crash and need use of "cure" fw. The version of TTS has direct and necessary relation with the glx files of language, which in the new version has different formatting. Only match the part number of them with the TTS in use is a simplistic solution that seems also not solve. Perhaps a deeper editionin text files, probably the only possible, since amendments in TTS files is a possibility something complicated, that I know.
Maybe some input specifies in the firmware of part numbers , or both measures , complicated way..
