The former is English_American.srd and the letter is en_US.srd and the srd file is also located in the ASR folder. If you have the wrong type of srd that's also a problem.
Well it appears not all the voice recognition functions work on the Kenwood. I found the English_American.srd file and en_US.srd. I tried them both and it did not help.

I found a list of files on a slightly older Kenwood DNX9980 (2011 model). Here is what is in the ASR directory:

    01xv08W0.srx
    01xv08W0.sum
    01xv08W1.srx
    01xv08W1.sum
    01xv08W2.srx
    01xv08W2.sum
    01xv08W3.srx
    01xv08W3.sum
    English_American.srd
    English_American.sum
    <And a few other languages>

I am think the DNN990 is similar, but with updated files for 2014.10. Don't know where to get them though.

I plopped these file into the ASR directory of the 990HD and no joy. However, they seemed to help the voice recognition for the older 9980HD even with the new maps.

    @ Flame red

Umh....for nuvi the file *srd work only in path nav\System\ASR\..... maybe also in Kenwood device?
The ASR works fine (example for address search) ONLY with fix satellites active or Simulation GPS (and set position in area for Language in use).

    Bye,bye

Hi everyone! I have not updated my Garmin Mobile XT (WM 6.1) since 2011. I've tried the unlocked maps posted on this site for every year since 2012 and I have not been able to get it to work. Do these newer maps work with Mobile XT 20w? Not sure if I'm missing any steps, but I think all I need to do is enter my device id into JetMouse to get the code for gmapsupp.unl. Do I need other things to get this to work?

The img file I downloaded (such as 2014.10 in the original post of this thread) was already unlocked so I don't think that is still necessary. Anyway, I also tried running gimgunlock on it again but it did not change the original img file (e.g., md5sum is still the same after running gimgunlock).

ok do does anyone know what else i need to get my gm xt to use the newer maps (or if it is even possible)? if i replace with the newer map and unl, my gm xt only recognizes the base map. also i noticed that jetmouse tool keeps outputting diff codes if i just keep pressing the generate button and without changing the unit id... are all those codes valid?
