qwik does have "Lane Assist" for the description of the different junction view files in the first post. Not sure if he got that from Garmin but technically smokefree is correct. JCV has nothing to do with the "Lane Assist" function. They are 2 totally different functions. These files should have descriptive labels such as "Junction View Full" and so on to avoid confusion.

On another note with all these files qwik can dig up from Garmin it would be great if he could get a PNX file used for the Kenwood/Garmin units. Name for 2012.30 would be 01YWSTTS.PNX. Same name as the SRX file for the ASR files but a different suffix. Or it could be 01YWSU0W.PNX to go with the other set af ASR files as the kenwood unit came with 3 separate ASR files and 1 SRX file and the matching PNX file.

If you don't have enough space - I did install the big jcv file on a SD card, on folder named: SD:\\Garmin\JCV

The names in post #1 are just internal names inside the software. They have to keep on using them because of the firmware in the units and the automated update process.

If someone wants to do up a unlocked .IMG of the US they'll post it, but do you know that instead of waiting for someone else to do the work you can do the work yourself? You have CNNANT 2012.30 ready for download in post 1, and in the Software forum you'll find various programs to unlock the maps. In the Tutorials section you'll find tutorials on how to actually unlock the maps. So really, there's no reason for you to wait for a USA .IMG when you have everything you need right here. I'll even make things simpler and provide you my [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] on how to unlock the maps. Just replace step 4 with downloading the maps from this post and enjoy.

Strephon's point on generating custom maps is very good. In addition, it appears you can speed up your Garmin performance with smaller img sizes. It seems using a smaller area map (the states or area I commonly drive), the GPS screens load faster. So customize the portion of the whole map, add it to the SD card for instance, then if you want to go to another area, either select the whole map (also loaded on the SD card or memory), or generate the new custom map.
