i have tried several maps from this thread but i can't seem to get any of them working for my nokia 5800 running garmin mobile XT. are there different map sets for mobile phones?

That's why it's always better to download the original mapsource version and create the .img by ourself
You have to navigate to get to the good.

What is the difference to download:
Full Mapsource installation or Europe FULL Image ?
And if i decide to download the Europe FULL Image, What's the diference to download the IMG: UnLocked ou Locked ?
I know that if I download the Locked version I'll have to UnLock.. but what is the difference ? Why take locked version if the other is easier ?

I agree that although all efforts are done by posters and by the site admin and moderators, getting the appropriate info is getting increasingly difficult.

I read the posts, but that doesn't necessarily express the admin POV, who repeatedly expressed himself against the use of torrents.
Despite, uploading a torrent to a file sharing website doesn't solve the problem, still affected by nagscreens, wait times and inability to concurrently download multiple files.

You can find torrent files on torrent trackers, in our forum we are used mostly to post host sites links.
Multipart files can be easily downloaded with Jdownloader as explained clearly here
[Only registered and activated users can see links. ]
The reason why sometimes I post magnet files is because in some countries (eg. Italy) some torrent sites (eg.TPB) arent reachable coz blocked to users. Must reach them with proxies :not so confortable.
Torrent are very good for large files, but till users seed, after some weeks host sites are better, but this is my personal opinion, users are free to post every kind of links. Uploaders are always welcome, everywhere they upload files
