..problem seems solved, I had 4 maps installed now uninstalled, last map only (2012.20) works fine with jet mouse.probably too many maps?

How do i unlock it.

I unlocked it using UnLockMapSource_v1.3.0.3. for use with MapSource.
Then i selected the mapset that i wanted in MapSource and created the img. file. Before transfering the mapset to the Nuvi 255 i used Fast IMG Unlocker 2.1, and its working.
The problem with the GPSMAP 276C is that you cant work the img. file. You just create a mapset in MapSource and transfer it to the GPS. In this particular case i also created an unlock code with JetMouse, but when i transfer the mapset to the GPS the maps are still locked.
Any ideas how to solve this?

Yes, I know the "problem" with the old type gps like 276C (I own one myself)...
I unlocked the "conventional" way with Jetmouse 1.5 Fix for the id of the 276C and it worked fine for me.
You can also try with the unlocker here [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]
Test with a small part to save time, it takes some time to transfer to the hopelessly small and expensive memory cards used in theese gps.

I uninstalled CN 2012.20 and then ran the Garmin gmap and family maps (Mapsource) unlocker before installing again.
Its working now!!!!

When booting up my GPS (nüvi 200 in this case), I notice the text at the bottom of the splash screen contains some information pertaining to the map(s) used. CNE version 2012.10 has some text in Italian and CNE version 2012.20 makes a reference to Belgium. See screenshots below.

Question: assuming this text is embedded in the IMG file of the map, can it be edited / modified and if so, how?
