Thread: Garmin City Navigator Europe NT 2011.40 Mapsource

About unlocking mapsource on computer
Maybe this can be helpful for anybody out there.


After mappinstall
Replace original mapsource with ”patched” mapsource.
Placed in C:\Garmin

For Garmin City Navigator Europe NT 2011.40,use v6.16.30 Patch.
Then copy the tool “UnLockMapSource_v1.7” and place it in folder where
locked Garmin map is.
For Garmin City Navigator Europe NT 2011.40 it’s special, because it doesn't automaticly install in the usual folder whith other mapps.

In my case, wherever I installed the Garmin City Navigator Europe NT 2011.40 the location to past “UnLockMapSource_v1.7” and unlock maps was

WINDOWS 7
C:\ProgramData\GARMIN\Maps\City Navigator Europe NT 2011.40.gmap

WINDOWS XP
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users.WINDOWS\Application Data\GARMIN\Maps\City Navigator Europe NT 2011.40.gmap

If you can’t se the path, then go to controlpanel/Folderoptions/View/Check show hidden files and folders/Apply & OK.
Now execute the tool UnLockMapSource_v1.7 and wait .
After 1 – 3 min’s mapp is unlocked.
