It's the windshield , if the signal is good probably you'r right, may be having the map in the sd can cause slowness , you can try CX Sao Paulo in internal memory just to test (we have the latest version and it is a small map) and use your unit without sd ,just to see if you notice any difference.

Ok, I have been trying, not all the time but still trying, to put City Xplorer Sao Paulo, in my Gps, to test it, but as you may remember, my Gps is an Nuvi 255w, and it keeps saying that message "Can't Unlock Maps" when I start my Gps. I have tried, different ways to unlock with, jetmouse 1.5, as suggested on the other post, but I haven't been successful. So maybe you can be so kind, as to give a step by step guide, on how to do it. Since or I am to dumb for to understand this, or the process haven't been through-fully explained.
