It's an automotive device to state the obvious. "Horses for courses" .. outdoor devices are for topo use.

For what it's worth I've never had an issue using US, EU & Aus Topo's in my progression of automotive Nuvi's 255, 50, 1390, 1450, 1490, 2597, 3597 & Street Pilot Android.
