Older devices like GPSmap60/76 can't display raster maps. They are not able to show the satellite pictures and that's why they haven't any problems with G2V maps.
Now I solved the problem with the tide tables, harbour images and POI!
The bitmap files have internal numbers (shown e.g. in GMapTool), beginning with P - these are the satellite images. Only one file (the biggest) begins with V - those file contains the tides, images and POIs:
I created the new image file including this file and so all missed features are avilable.
Here you can see the result in HomePort:
The file size is now 1.05GB (vs. 1.65GB originally)
It also seems to work fine on my Oregon.
edit:
Unfortunately no search function works: neither for POI nor for tides or any other feature :angry:
@scubadoo
It is important and interesting to say, wich version you have used for your experiments! Garmin has changed the G2 and G2V maps format between v11.00 (till 2009) and 11.50 (from 2010) - I just wrote [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]. The maps have 2 parts:
In older maps are in the first part only marine informations and in the second part maps, satellite pictures and all other features.
In the newer maps, in part one are all additional features and in part two is only the navigation map.
