If you can try using mapsource to build the mapset. What I am doing is using mapsource to create the mapset I make sure it is below the 2gb size. At this time with 2018.20 maps that is all or most of the US. Once the gmapprom.img file is created run it thru the unlocker program and copy it to your CF card in the Garman directory.
I also use a 4gb card which allows for slightly larger mapsets.

Once you have the map loaded into the goldwing do a search by address. If the mapset is too large you wont be able to do a search.
