Thread: Software for laptop navigation

Yes, I know, but HomePort cannot use the GPS data from my Oregon, i.e. position, direction, speed etc. (like nRoute can for instance)!

I'll give it a try with G2 Vision on MobilePC and report results here.
But I don't believe it will work satisfying!

I would like to use BlueChart G2 Vision maps. The former nRoute has big problems with G2 Vision charts and the old MapSource 6.5 cannot handle them at all. MobilePC 5.00.70 does not have any marine charts handling abilities either.
I think Garmin has stopped the development of these software products for marketing reasons. They just want to sell their GPS units.
I would like to use this software as back up system on my navigation table inside and my Oregon outside in the cockpit of my boat.

Hi, it sounds so simple, after hours and hours of searching have failed to find software to suit. Hopefully some more experienced member can give us a pm or direct link.

Fugawi Global Navigator. It also can read Garmin img Maps.

I did a search and did not find any info on any hacked Fugawi software.

I'm shocked... especially if it is compatible with the Garmin .IMG charts.

Hmmmm.. I installed this then launched the program and get a message that the "Demonstration features" have expired. And then the next screen asks for a Product Key and serial number.

Will it still keep working regardsless of these nag screens?
