    Default Does this still work?

Hello: I recently stumbled across this thread. I have a nuvi 265W. I am conisdering trying this. These instructions were from 2 years ago. Currently, my 265W (US version) has FW 7.5. Does this method still work? If the GPS is flashed to Singapore FW, will it work with current US Map and JCV? What about FW updates? What happens if I run Garmin WebUpdater on a GPS flashed to Singapore FW, will it re-install US firmware?

    Hi,

I also have a nuvi 205W from USA - FW 7.5, HWID 1091, S4. Will this method work for it? Also, it seems these updates will remove ecoroute from the device. Please advise.
    Thanks.

    First post says:
This guide is for mainboard version S2 & S3 only.
This does not work with mainboard version S4, you'll end up with a white screen and brick your unit!
    You have S4 so... no-go.

    There are several jcv files:
    - The smallest one has only a few important junctions (between interstate highways).
    - The medium size one is a smaller view (just 1/2 of the screen width) but has more points.
    - The largest file has all the exits on interstates.
JCV files need to match the map that is in use - usually thy are posted together.
