    Hi,

i have some trouble with MobilePC 50070 on a PC with Windows XP:

When i look to a gmapsupp.img of a topo map, some (narrow) roads and paths appear as a kind of "dashed line", it means i see 2cm line, 2 cm "background", 2 cm line, 2 cm "background" ans so on. In this way it s not possible to see the road as a continuous line.
When i look to the SAME map / file on garmin unit (NÜVI), it looks all ok (i see the road as a continuous line).
Please see the following images (that show the same reagion) to better understand the situation.
    "...rapidshare.com/files/419670553/mobile-pc.gif "
    "...rapidshare.com/files/419670412/mapsource.gif"

Has someone any idea what could be the reason for this problem?

Is there another EASY and FAST way to have a look to an gmapsupp.img ON A PC (i till now know only 2 ways: open it with mobile-pc or use some tools to split the gmapsupp.img into many parts and create from it a mapset for mapsource)

    Thanks.
    greetings from hellsking

you can see them in Basecamp
    read here post 2
    GMapTool v.0.5.4 (11.8.2010)

thank you very much for this advise, it works.
Nevertheless: do you have any idea, why with Basecamp i can see a gmapsupp.img from a topo-map properly, and with Mobile PC i see only mess when looking to the same file/map.

Is this a problem of my installation or do also other people have the same trouble?

    greetings from hellsking

probably MobilePC is made for routable maps like City Navigators
if you look at MobilePC site, topo maps are not in the compatible maps list,
in this topo map many objects and pois are missing, may be the software doesnt support them-

Hi, I flashed my Garmin Nuvi 205 yesterday to a CN330 version. But I forgot to delete the file of \Garmin\GUPDATE.GCD before the flash. After restart, the fonts become much larger than before as the screen can only display 2/3 of the total contents. For example, I can't find the battery icon now and some buttons are hidden below the screen. Although the GPS seems working fine, it's usefuless as I can't access some of function. It's pity that I can't even flash it back as the battery icon is hidden as well. I think the new firmware is designed for a bigger / wider screen machine.

Could you help me out? Is there anyway to access the Diag Mode without holding the battery icon? Or adjust the display mode using PC?

    Many thanks!!!

You don't need to use diagnostic mode to flash your nuvi. I think standard WebUpdater procedure should work. Alternatively you can find firmware in rgn version and flash it in preboot mode. Your device is in preboot mode for about 30 seconds after switching on, if you hold the switch-on button.
