Once you locate the latest map as said in the above post, you'll need to either create a small GMAPSUPP.IMG no bigger than 2,147,483,647 bytes, which is 1 byte less than 2 GiB (binary gigibytes) or you might locate one already compiled which suits your purposes. SP c3x0 devices can read an SD card formatted in either FAT16 or FAT32 but if you use a (so-called) 2GB card it will be decimal gigibytes which is maximum size of around 2,000,000 bytes, so to maximize the map size you're best to use a 4GB or larger card but avoid very large cards. SPc3x0 cannot have a detail map written to the internal memory, they are only usable on an SD card in a Garmin folder.
