I be a noob and have gotten a little confused lol. I am trying to update my Ease. I have made a backup of my existing device.

Here is my config:

ttgo.bif:

So I read a bunch and then downloaded

USA_Canada_960_7079 - was in 9 parts and I reassembled using Total Commander into 1 file, is a .part01 file

This where I am stuck ... I don't know what to do with file ... I realize that I need to copy the file somewhere on my Ease - after a rename ?? - but I have not been able to understand what to do next.

Help !!!

EDIT: So I managed to get a folder but its name is different from the folder on my TT.

on TT: North_America_2GB

new map folder name: USA_Canada_960_9079

I think I will copy and then rename to North_America_2GB and see how it goes.

Thanks Quin1965 - I was trying to follow that tutorial but no joy.

I am ready to delete North_America_2GB - current map - and will try to replace with

USA_Canada_960_7079 - may not fit

and then try to activate.

I hope I am doing the right thing.

EDIT: Successfully copied USA_Canada_960_7079 to device. Executed fastactivate from root of TT - seemed to work.

Re-started TT and error message "Problem with map. You cannot use this map on this device: USA_Canada-100583"

Not sure where to proceed...

EDIT: After s few very helpful PM's from TomTom13E I am back in business... Seems my map has no current meta so I was pointed to an equivalent mets..

You really need to have a good read around here [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] as everything is there.
1. Find a UK map that we DO have a meta for AND is compatible with your (9500) navcore
2. Run FastActivate to update with latest known metas/activate the map/patch the navcore

Plan b) Buy the latest Rider map then create/share the meta with us, see [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

Hi all looking for some help i have tried updating my dads tomtom, not sure what happened but it froze on loading I have managed to get it to boot again but it doesn't like the UK map i put on it, here is my current config, any help would be gratefully appreciated thanks

First - upgrade your navcore to latest version - 9.530 - then install any map you like

The correct map for your navcore is: United Kingdom and Republic of Ireland 1000.8672

Not sure how exactly to update this one, and it's a weird one. It's a UConnect 5.0/RA2 in a 2016 Fiat 500e. I know the maps are really old but I haven't seen any of the version numbers before. Also when I connect my USB drive for updating to TomTom Home, the newest version it offers me is v1005.8799

The 1005_8799 must be the latest version available, we don't have the map nor a valid meta code for it yet
If you buy this map it would be very interesting for someone else when you share it with us, map as well the meta code
Meta codes are generated by the Fastactivate tool.

Very doubt you can update maps for free, as

ApplicationVersionVersionNumber=11815

- hence uses navcore 11xx - which leads us to nav3 or higher version. Till now patching this type of navcore was unsuccessful...
On the other hand - it was successful for Mazda NB1 (navcore 10xxx). But first thing to do - is to get original navcore...

And one more thing - as pe1agp wrote - try to extract your current map from USB drive and extract meta.txt from it... May be it would be worth your efforts?

...and one more - it'll be interesting to get list of files from your USB drive - maybe it contains navcore files?
