Hi - first post. I am from the US and have just purchased the current version (2.7) of StreetPilot Western Europe in preparation for a trip. I would like to install a small topo map of my area in the US. This is an unlocked, non-routable map that I created myself with cgpsmapper. I only want it to appear as a moving map on the screen, I don't need routing, search, traffic, etc. The same map works fine on my Nuvi 3590.
My phone is running iOS 7 and is NOT jailbroken. Using iExplorer, i can mount the sdcard directory on my Mac (OSX 10.8.) and see the following directories in Terminal
drwxrwxrwx 3 staff 0 Feb 18 14:06 Garmin
drwxrwxrwx 2 staff 0 Feb 17 15:28 MapUnlock
I copied my gmapsupp.img file to the Garmin folder, but it is not recognized there - here are the contents (I have done the in-app purchase of 3d terrain)
drwxrwxrwx 2 staff 0 Feb 17 14:34 Diag
-rw-rw-rw- 1 staff 738312192 Feb 17 17:40 gmap3d.img
-rw-rw-rw- 1 staff 317841408 Feb 18 13:41 gmapdem.img
-rw-rw-rw- 1 staff 73375744 Feb 18 13:55 gmapsupp.img
I also tried creating a folder named Map in the sdcard directory and copied the gmapsupp.img file there but still no luck. How can I make this work? Seems like jailbreaking should not be required as I am running a legitimate version of StreetPilot and can access the filesystem with iExplorer. Is this a permissions problem maybe?
Thanks!

Some nuvis don't show topo maps, maybe this is the case with StreetPilot too?
Maybe not .. after 2.3 version any new cant work with custom map
No chance to make it work .. app delete all custom map and try to download his own map .. try to rename img, to change it .. no luck
For that use 2.3 with jailbreak and be happy
Sorry if this is old news, but I learned something new after having had to reinstall Garmin onto my iPhone (I mucked around with some settings and somehow managed to hose the Garmin app on my phone)--at least one of those SID files is required for when selecting a destination via the Contacts book option; for grins, when I reinstalled Garmin on my iPhone, I did not install any of the four SID files (D2656xxxA.SID for External Point Addressing, D3157xxxA.SID for InstaSearch, D3406xxxA.SID for trafficTrends, and D3398xxxA.SID for Fast Routing) just to see if the Garmin (2.2) iPhone app really needs any/all of those SID files. Turns out that without the InstaSearch SID file, selecting destination via Contacts will not work (search screen will just show the spinning wheel and eventually cause the Garmin app to crash).
Given the above, whenever you're updating the maps, make sure you update the corresponding SID files appropriate for the map version you're looking to update/install...or at least make sure you have a valid InstaSearch SID file.
Hello.
Recently there was a program shell Garmin Hud +
Who has the opportunity to check whether the program will read the aftermarket card format .img?Code:Please Login or Register to see the links
But to run the program requires a Garmin Hud.
In Russia this device is not available, so I can not verify it works.
Sorry for bad english (translate.google.com)

has anyone had the chance to work with new 2.7 version of garmin app for iphone?
im running it without any trouble. i also downloaded the 2014.30 version of usa maps and works great. what i havent been able to do is to install a different set of maps by putting them on the app folder.
don't say it wont or will work until you try,i can confirm that 2.7 works fine without any problems with all western Europe map,tz,3d,jcv (not sure about non jailbroken phones though) all you have to do is edit host file-delete any garmin entries, what I am still not able to do is install custom maps and cant get around it since I want eastern Europe maps as well
