Even though downloaded maps have disappeared from settings, if you create a route with internet access turned on and then turn internet off, you can follow the created route fully. I have tested this with v17.49 and today with v17.52, both tests done on a Galaxy A22 5G running Android 13.

I initially thought that offline maps were limited to certain countries. However, it is possible to enable offline map downloads by following these simple steps. I was able to download offline maps for Spain and any other country I wanted.

    1. Install TomTom – Maps & Traffic (I’m a beta user). On the first launch, the option to download offline maps did not appear. See screenshot nº 2.
    2. Force-stop and clear the app cache:
Go to Phone Settings → Apps → TomTom → Force stop, and then Clear cache.
This immediately enabled the offline map download option. See screenshot nº 3.

I hope this helps other users. Try it from your own countries and share whether this workaround works for you as well.

You do not even need to do any of that.

I have tested this app on many phones and tablets.

All I do is install it, and open it and close it.
When I start it again I can then download any maps I want.

The download function has never disappeared. Have no idea why some users have it and then it is gone.
Like I said before you do not need to be a beta tester it is not required.
Almost every time I turn on one of the test phones it updates to the next version.

The latest as of today is version 17.52.0 engine version is 2.6.0-rc10

You show version 18.41.0 engine version is 2.7.0-rc10

Users should remember this is still beta versions, so make sure you have the latest and set it to "Automatic updates"

I have one phone under a different account and joined the beta program. We will see if that makes a change in the app.

I waited awhile and tested the phone with a different account and having access to the beta program.
The update came on this phone to 18.41.0 engine version is 2.7.0-rc10.

Checked the others phones and tablets without the beta program and my normal account and there are no updates as of this posting now being 17:00 EU time.

But I put 2 phones next to each other and was no differences between them just different versions of the app.

One other thing I noticed was the beta program Icon app changed to Red while the non beta program app still White.
Maybe it will change will have to wait and see.

A lie goes around the internet before anyone ever fact checks it if it is true or not. In most cases no one ever checks anything they just accept it as fact.....
