It does not offer map updates from within the app, in fact, it no longer offers me to download another region :-(
Maybe it will offer at some point, maybe it will never again
Then we will only have to download the content manually

A year ago I changed my phone, I took a POCO M4 Pro with Android 12 and installed GO Mobile and Navigation, I don't use them but occasionally I open them and update the maps.

A month ago I updated it to Android 13 and the GO Mobile still seems to work, I have Western Europe 1105.11765 and Italy 1105.11765 maps.
I can use both but I can't download any other map, I think TomTom has stopped supporting this type of map and consequently the "old" software.
I believe the new version uses the same maps as the Navigation.

If the traffic service and speed cameras are discontinued, then we can bury the app.

TomTom doesn't establish a connection to the server anyway when you click Update.

The old version of DFox ran great until now, load a map of Europe every 3 months and it worked. Android v7.1.1 after that NEW phone stopped working.
However, when changing the app to a new smartphone, Android 12 no more maps.
Now we are waiting for other TT healed version!

Neither Android 12 nor Android 13 is to blame, it is that TomTom has stopped supporting "old versions" maps.

As I said - It won't happen anytime soon. And even if DFoX was still active, it would be almost impossible for him to do anything

New applications are a completely different story.
Multi-layered software, almost cloud-based, constant communication with servers, credentials check every time you connect, regular changes in the code itself, drastic changes ...
This has become the norm with new editions and with other publishers.

There are also other people (p*tchers) who deal with this

So far, there has been partial and short-lived success. The new generations of TT developers are damn good, the new software tools and platforms are much more powerful, the resources available to them are huge.
