That's Why you must always "Try before You Buy".There are only excluding Bluechart images from supported Garmin formats. Relying on that info I would expect for it to be able to use NT maps.

I installed the demo version and then substituted the patched executable...and got an error. It was something about not finding a library file, I think.

The difference between stupidity and genius is that genius has its limits.
Albert Einstein.
For the moment Fugawi Global Navigator doesn't support neither NT format nor the quasi-NT format even!
And (IMHO) it's unlikely to happen in the near future ...
Caveat emptor! However, i'm/we're not buying the product so that doesn't apply to me/us does it?
Not sure about consumer legislation in Canada, but if that kind of 'lying by omission' (i.e. misrepresentation by withholding vital information which may influence any potential purchaser's decision to buy) involved an AU company they would get their a*** kicked by the ACCC here and would possibly have to offer a partial or full refund to all buyers and maybe cop a fine as well. Their disclosure that Bluecharts aren't supported while simultaneously not disclosing that NT format isn't supported doesn't mitigate their responsibility in my mind, it just highlights it as a likely deliberate withholding rather than an oversight.

Not misleading for me at all.
Many (most?) here are fully aware that no one on Earth has yet reverse engineered Garmin the NT .img format. We can create them with MPC.
I now have 10 or so real time navigation apps to run either directly or converted non NT .img mapsets in Windows, CE and android.
NT format files are strictly a Garmin monopoly. I still use Garmin nRoute, MobilePC and MobileXT for that purpose.

@scubadoo
Yellow Duck & I were referring to it being misleading in the legal sense. A learned discussion on what exactly 'reverse engineering NT' entails, although very, very interesting, has little to do with the fact that by prominently disclosing non-support of Bluecharts while ignoring any further 'obligation' by them to also disclose that NT format (and 'pseudo-NT' for that matter) are similarly unsupported, is essentially misleading. Whether there are 10 or 1,000 other real-time nav apps and whether those others do or do not disclose such support/non-support by them is immaterial to me. The irony of ethics/legal obligations being discussed in this venue in not lost on me however, but I don't regret starting it because it has indirectly led to the examination of what exactly is the usual meaning of 'manipulating/reverse engineering' NT. I do absolutely see Caty's point that extracting EMP etc, and particularly the gentleman-genius popej's method of building pseudo-NT from NT, fall into that category. I also see clearly your point that the actual 'decode' of the core of NT remains unknown outside of Garmin as far as we know. Maybe someone has done it but is sitting on it because Garmin would probably embark on a seek & destroy mission not seen since the hunt for Osama Bin Laden? We probably should all just agree to disagree on the semantics of 'manipulating/reverse engineering' NT, but imho it is only partial possible and won't be complete until NT is fully [email protected] OMG! I think i just agreed with a Kiwi. Oh well, life's not perfect. If you actually meant this: "Many (most?) here are fully aware that no one on Earth has yet FULLY reverse engineered Garmin the NT .img format" then we would all be in complete accord.
On another somewhat OT note (my specialty), does the name 'Fugawi' emanate from whence I suspect, i.e. the name of that legendary positionally unaware tribe, who ran around yelling 'We're (where) the Fugawi' ?? Or for the sake of politeness, is it pronounced 'foog-a-y'? Perhaps Yellow Duck knows for sure? LOL!
