MapSource software version 6.16.3
as of October 25, 2010

Changes made from version 6.16.2 to 6.16.3:

Fixed some map display issues (22s & 71s labels instead of highway names).
Fixed Pedestrian routing.
Fixed some other routing issues.
Fixed Find Nearest Waypoints issue.
Fixed vertical profile custom scale settings (right-clicking on the scale of the vertical profile).
Fixed selection issue (waypoints were not de-selected when selecting a track before).
Fixed an issue where MapSource did not remember the grid setting correctly.
Fixed an issue with the updating process.
Fixed sort by number of via points in the route tab.
Fixed an issue with spot soundings.
Fixed a Polish localization issue.
Made MapSource more robust when encountering invalid map products.

Mapsource v6.16.3 Special (Patched)

Works with Jetmouse and send maps all drives, replace EXE file
Includes language files

...removed dead links ...

Download the official one, then find&open Mapsource folder and replace the original exe with the patched one.
(you can rename the old one with someting like Mapsource nonpatched.exe) after that, create a shortcut to you desktop from the patched one, replacing the original.

Worked like a charm for me. I had the mapsource 6.16.3 with Europe NT City navigator 2012.20. The "unauthenticated" was replaced with "unlocked" on my europe map. It's downloaded to my GPSMAP 62s and works fine.

After a format at my PC, I installed again TrainingCenter-->Mapsource-->BaseCamp

Then, I used MS6163lang-Special and replaced Mapsource.exe and language files... But I saw that:

What is the difference between Portable Special version from other?

I uninstalled all Garmin products and used the other patched file I had long time ago, I can't find in forum now.... so I uploaded it to examine it if you want [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

Difference of that file is that it is exactly same (17.149.952 bytes) like original too(17.149.952 bytes), but the "MS6163lang-Special" patched file is (17.137.664 bytes)

Why that?

PS: for language I didn't used patched dll, I just renamed original MapSourceELL.dll to MapSourceENU.dll so now I have Mapsource at my language (Greek)

but when try to install, it is giving error message like Previous Mapsource not found. setup will terminated.

you must extract official installer .EXE file with Winrar,winzip.... and install with .MSI
you can rename official installer .EXE extension .RAR too

[B]Install MapSource v6.16.3 Official Installer and replace EXE file
OR
Use just Mapsource v6.16.3 Special (Patched) if you need language files download it [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]
Mapsource Special work directly without install original one you need only mapsource.exe and (mapsourceXXX.dll language file same directory) and you can run it anywhere

Hello everyone
I use Mapsource v6.16.3 patched and MapInstall v3.14.2 patched, everything is OK, the cards are unlocked on my PC.
When I 'install some of topo Spain V4, when I turn on my Zumo 660, it tells me "can not authenticate maps".
Can you tell me what I forgot?

Thank you for your help.
I still have the same problem despite your advice.

1 - On the PC, deleting code in mapsource regedit

2 - With IMG 1.2 Unlocker v 1.2, file gmapsupp_lock converted (if I use v1.3 or v1.4, the gmapsupp disappears??)

3 - Copy of gmapsupp_lock on GPS but not visible

4 - Copy of gmapsupp_lock renamed gmapsupp with or without gmapsupp.inl, still "can not authenticate maps" to the screen.

Your help is essential.

Edit: Installing an older firmware on the GPS unprotected GMA has solved the problem.
