You can only use JM code to unlock in MS if it's the patched version. Don't use MS anyway, it's old, outdated and unsupported by Garmin because it's totally unsuited for compiling images from large modern CN gmap folders. Use the patched version of MapInstall. First, unlock the gmap folder with one of the unlockers, preferably [Only registered and activated users can see links. ].

Where is your MobilePC folder? i.e. on your system C drive or some other drive such as an external usb drive.

I installed basecamp 4.4.6 along with the patch and i can select the map and actually have lines and text on the map now but i am unable to select any state...

Any more advice?

BC doesn't install maps directly the way MapSource does. It invokes MapInstall to do the job anyway, so just use patched MI.
