Cyclop Safety Cameras for Garmin

Never done this before. I have a Garmin DriveAssist 50.

So, do I basically just drag and drop in the POI folder? Does the file name need to be changed? Does it matter what the file name is?

There is a sample file in there currently. Can I delete it?

When I go to the alerts menu, it still just shows Red Light Camera as an option. Is that normal? Or should I see an option for Speed Camera / Safety Camera.

Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

The Garmin DriveAssist 50 has strong protection on it and any unlocked Speed cams will not work.

Proximity Alerts Settings
NOTE: You must have custom points of interest (POIs) loaded for proximity points alerts to display.
NOTE: This feature is not available in all areas.

Select Settings > Proximity Alerts.

Audio

Sets the style of alert that plays when you approach proximity points.
Alerts

Sets the type of proximity points for which alerts are played.

As for the sample speed cams you would delete them. Seeing that the unlocked ones do not work I would keep the sample ones for the time being.

Your best bet is to get a subscription to speed cams if you really need them..

The only way to get any unlocked speed cams to work on Garmin DriveAssist 50 you would have to patch it and that could brick your Garmin.
I will not go into how to do that.

You will have to find a different forum for patching the Garmin DriveAssist 50 to use unlocked speed cams.

Did you try updating with Garmin Express??

Just tested these files on a couple of Garmin Units I have.

No problems at all they are unlocked.

As I do not use speed cams it was just a test.

Cyclops does not show Bulgaria as included in their
Comprehensive Coverage of Europe for Garmin Devices

The unlocked files don't show up in the "About" section of my zumo anymore. The last ones that did were the Jan-30 ones from Garman_Nuvi.

It doesn't have proprietary Garmin firmware so as far as i'm aware it cannot be patched to allow it to run Cyclops GPI files not purchased specifically for the device.
