    please help!!

    If your Kenwood Model has an SD card slot you will need:

    • A card reader suitable for the memory card type used with your Kenwood
    • A suitable memory card (if not supplied with the Kenwood unit).

    If your Kenwood Model does not have an SD card slot you will need:

    • A CD Writer
    • A blank CD-R disc

    Where to get POI Loader?
    Download POILoader from Garmin's web site [Only registered and activated users can see links. ].

    1. Extract the speedcams ZIP file to a directory on your PC
      • In Windows XP/Vista right-click the .zip file and select "Extract Files Here..." or use a program such as [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] or [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] to extract the files. If you do not extract the files POILoader will not be able to use them and will report that there are no csv files available

    B. Installing Safety Camera Database - SD Card Models

    1. Connect your card reader to the PC and insert the memory card.
    2. If POILoader does not automatically start, run it now.
    3. Select 'Garmin Device' from 'Save Options', Click Next.
    4. Your card reader should now be listed as the device, Click Next.
    5. Choose 'Install new custom POIs onto your device', Click Next.
    6. Browse for the folder where you saved and extracted the POIs at 'A. Extracting the Database on the PC'. Follow the on screen instructions.
    7. Browse for your POI folder and follow the on screen instructions.
    8. Use 'Express' mode (Recommended) to quickly transfer the database to your SD Card.
    9. Note that any other POIs you wish to load must be uploaded at the same time as the Speed Camera database.

    C. Installing Safety Camera Database - Non-SD Card Models

    1. Create folder on your computer called garmin (please note the name must be exactly as shown and all in lower-case).
      • NOTE: DNX7240BT and DNX9240BT users MUST create an extra sub folder called 'poi' so the final structure is garmin\poi
      • UPDATE: there are some reports of users finding their CD only works when the root folder name is Garmin (capital G) - if you find that your disc doesn;t work then please try again using a capital G!

    2. Launch POILoader. Select "Computer" (Old versions had the option of "Custom Folder (Advanced)")
    3. Browse for the folder where you saved and extracted the POIs at 'A. Extracting the Database on the PC'. Follow the on screen instructions.
    4. Use POI loader to create the output file from database, choose 'Custom Folder' and then select the garmin folder you created in Step 1 (or 'garmin\poi' if your device requires it)
    5. Browse for your POI folder and follow the on screen instructions.
    6. Burn the garmin folder containing your new POI file to CD-R, you must ensure you burn as "Data CD' and that your burner software 'finalises' the disc or this will fail.
    7. Insert CD into the Kenwood unit and it will auto-update.

    For non-SD card Kenwood models, ensure you select 'Computer' (Old versions had 'Custom Folder') when launching POILoader
    Displaying Speed Cameras on Kenwood units

    1. Ensure that you have Proximity Alerts turned on in the units settings
    2. If you have a unit with the Garmin/Cyclops camera database installed then you may want to turn off alerts for this database to avoid duplicate warnings.

    Speed Camera Plug-in for Garmin

    Stay aware of safety cameras and travel safely, legally and speed-consciously. Every Garmin GPS can have the full SCDB safety camera database loaded inside to bring speed alerts - and only those specific to the road you are travelling and direction of travel. Keeping safe and accident-free will help you maintain lower insurance premiums and avoid penalty points and fines too.
    DusterBurnoutGIF
    Powered by the weekly-updated database, your sat-nav knows the locations of:

    * Fixed cameras
    * Average speed cameras
    * Variable cameras
    * Temporary cameras / roadwork sites
    * Red light speed cameras Mobile cameras

    Expert Sources

    Safety camera alerts are driven by content from a range of expert sources, not just user feedback. Before they are included in the database, each location is physically inspected to confirm camera type, direction, average speed and distance covered.

    Content sources include

    * Official agency data
    * Professional survey
    * GPS digital camera, Wi-Fi and expert field survey-gathered data
    * Verified user feedback

    Latest Data

    The SCDB database is continually reviewed to keep track of ever-changing camera locations. A dedicated team checks for new, removed and amended camera sites and refreshes this content every day. Once verified, this information is live within 48 hours.

    Accurate and Reliable Alerts

    Garmin sat-navs use smart GPS software to compare your route against a preloaded log of camera locations. Each camera and zone is individually verified and mapped using a patented 'corridor' technique of camera validation – confirming the speed setting and direction of camera to bring only relevant alerts to your journey, when you need them and avoid irritating false alarms:

    * Directional camera alerts
    * Camera-specific alerts such as average speed and mobile zones
    * Alerts relevant to journey
    * Overspeed alerts
    * Alerts tailored to road layout and navigation experience

    Have you tried driving if these speedcams work or not? Cyclops for example work, but you dont have any option to enable or disable them : to test them must simulate or drive

    Question

    Hello,
    I've got a RNEG NaviDrive into my french Peugeot 3008.
    I've updated my GPS with the RNEG SW R40b (40.03) without any problem.
    I've updated the card with the last patched card without any problem.
    And finally I've updated the speedcam (hazardareas.lwd & versionhazard.txt) with the EU RADARS 2012-07-02.

    => How can I activate and/or do parameters of thos speedcam POIs inside the GPS ?
    => A little additionnal question : how can I add others french POIs ?

    Thanks for all

    Thanks for the links.

    Just one question. Before updating cameras' list do I need to uninstall the old one? If so, how to do that? Guide only list the steps for installing cameras.
