    Doesn't work for me on a Nuvi 765T, fimware v 4.20.

Installed as per instructions using new Jetmouse keygen with checksum.
I did remove the original Lex_package folder before copying new one, (backed old one up first)

"This is working in a 1390T device itself (e.g. not SD card):

    - The LEX_PKG folder in the devices "garmin" folder.
    - An unl file in the device garmin folder named "D046800.unl", created with the devices Unit ID, FID 900, PID 2, Region 0, VendorID 0"

After installing, when I hit language guide it keeps stating I am using sample version.
I then deleted the Lex_Package folder completely from the Garmin directory and rebooted.
Hit the language guide key and same message appears that I'm using a sample version.
How can this be if the entire folder was removed from the unit. I would think it would say "not installed or something like that.

Are there any additional files like "bin files" that remain that keep letting the sample version show although it's no longer present on the Nuvi?

I had sample guide in 1200, but i didnt delete anything , I just copied Lex_package folder in Garmin folder in int. memory, added the D046800.unl file made with JM for FID900 and PID 2 and it worked.
Make sure you saved the .unl made with JM as "all files" and made with your 765 id

Only difference from what I did and what you did was that I deleted the original Lex_Package folder that had the sample Language guide. If I did what you did the only difference is XP would say folder already exists, do you want to overwrite.
I just wanted to start with a clean slate, that is why I removed the folder.

I still don't understand why the Nuvi 765T without any Lex_Package folder, still indicates I am using a sample version.
Is it embedded in the Nuvi Firmware because it always appears when I click on the language guide icon

I tried that also, the old language guide doesn't work either so there is no point in copying the new one.
No matter what I do it always appears shows that I am using the sample version.
The Lex_Package folder that came with the Nuvi is 702KB (sample version).
The new one installed shows 63.7 MB but still shows sample. I get no message the file is locked or anything like that.
    Just does not work.

Should I try putting it on an SD card?

    @itzbinnice

    For older nuvi:

Install old version of language guide and unlock like before jetmaus and gmapsupp.unl.
Then when your old language guide work, replace old map LEX_PKG with this in first post.
    Dont create D046800.unl

    Copy sample backup to Nuvi.
Then install from SD previous version.
Then delete all files in LEX_PKG folder and copy to Nuvi new version.
    Write code to D046800.unl.

Work fine on all my Nuvies of 7x5 series. Being keep silent as fish actually but it is present from Garmin.

    To All,
I tried all suggestions and nothing works, always shows I am using sample version.
Checked my Nuvi's ID, it was correct. Nobody informed what Jetmouse KeyGen to use, old 4 digit or new 5 digit with checksum. I tried both copying keys into notepad and saving as .unl, nothing worked.
Even tried SD card using SD cards 10 digit ID (Sandisk), that too did not work. Always the same saying I am using sample version.

Can anybody explain why after I delete the Lex_PKG folder from the Garmin directory on the Nuvi, then click on the Language Guide icon, it still shows sample version. How is that possible?

Coz the sample guide is present in sw or the guide you installed isnt unlocked, I guess you are doing something wrong with your .unl file.
Do you have extensions enabled in your Windows ? Are you sure it doesnt have a txt extension ? Have you saved it as "all files" ?
With old guide must use old JM with new guide I used the new one.

    Ctaymag,
    Thanks for the reply.
Yes I have file extensions enabled in my XP, I am pretty good with working with files.
I do copy & paste the generated file into notepad, select all files, then save it as either gmapsupp. unl or D046800.unl.
The Lex_pkg folder is a folder withinin the Garmin directory. and the unlock file is copied to the Garmin folder.
I believe that is the way it should be.

Just to clear something up if I may, when you say "With old guide must use old JM"
Do you mean the original free Oxford Language that came with the unit?
If your answer is yes, I did use both the old and new JM generator and it did not work.

Thanks for advising I must use the JM generator with checksum to create unlock code for the current Language Guide 010-D0055-00.

Download old garmin language guide here:

[Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

Extract rar and copy LEX_PKG and gmapsupp.unl to SD card
Open keygen and put ID of SD card in keygen
Set to GLG and click generate.
Open gmapsupp.unl with notepad and copy/paste code from keygen to gmapsupp.unl
    Click save.
Restart nuvi and garmin language guide is install from SD card to internal memory of nuvi.
After install delite LEX_PKG and gmapsupp.unl from SD card.
Copy this new LEX_PKG from this post to internal memory of nuvi and turn on nuvi.
    New GLG must work now.

Thank you for your easy to follow instuctions. I followed them exactly and now it works.
I am truly sorry to ask for continuing advice on this, but I am having one more problem, there is no sound.
When I click on the sound icon for a word no sound comes out.
I have all the updated voices from Garmin installed by Webupdater, I checked all sound fields including mixer,
all show 100% volume amd no mute fields are checked.

Is it possible that the sounds will not work on a 765T since Garmin does not show this model being compaitble with the newest Language Guide.

    @catymag
Thank you for taking the time and posting your file structure,, that is exactly where my files were located.

UPDATE: Forget my question about the sound not working.
After doing search I discovered that when Garmin updated firmware for Nuvi 765T to ver 4.0 they created a bug that disabled the sound with Language Guide. I have firmware 4.10 (newest) and the bug remains.
I am not about to go back to a earlier version firmware just to get sound on the guide. Fix one thing and break another.

All this work to get it working and it was for nothing, I am very sorry that I wasted everyones time.

In closing I would like to add that following lolypop000's instructions in post # 84, I installed Language Guide to my Nuvi 660 which is quite old. To my surprise the installation worked and all sounds work on that unit.
