Thank you catymag,
Can you make DNX upgrade series complete and explain how to update speedcams, voices, vehicles?
anyone here have an ideea if we can change the navigation software (eg. Garmin) with any other soft like iGo or TomTom...on the Kenwood DNX5240BT?
i would love to change the navigation software cuz i don`t really like the graphics in garmin...
You have to navigate to get to the good.
Galaxy S5 Kitkat 4.4.2 / Nuvi1200->1250 / Nuvi3790T->34xx / Nuvi 2200 / Nuvi 66 / Oregon 600
its a pity that these kenwood garmin Os is uneditable!!
I want to update maps in my Kenwood DNX7280BT
I just downloaded some maps.. there is gmapsupp.img file.. it is the file for SD card?
it is the same file as gmapprom.img? only rename & go? simply transfer via USB into unit?Now go ahead and copy over the new map over the existing Garmin\gmapprom.img, copy new POIs under Garmin\POI, vehicle icons under Garmin\vehicle, voices under Garmin\Voices, etc...

I have connected my DNX5240BT to the laptop using micro usb and having the drivers installed. The problem is that the DNX5240 is recognized as new connected usb device (GARMIN GPS) but I cannot see the device as a storrage driver. Do you know how to solve this case? Thanks
The described behavior where the device is seen in Device Manager but not in Windows Explorer means it's not connected in Mass Storage Mode of course. Rather it's connected in Garmin Mode, also referred to as preboot mode or boot block for various devices. If it stays permanently connected in that mode until manually removed then it may well be an older-style Garmin Mode device which only has flashable 'regions' rather than a visible file system but i'm mot familiar with that specific unit.
