I think that the speedcam warning is mainly for driving carefully, not for evading the law and exceeding limits when there is no control. So you don't need direction and position on the road, but a sure presence. My choice is DIRTYPE, DIRECTION = 0.0

Basically, I agree with you but it is probably differs from country to country or, continents. For us, the police mentality is to rake in as much revenue as possible from fines and therefore, most spcams are not located in dangerous lanes, whose purpose there is to reduce the speed of traffic there in order to contribute to the prevention of road accidents. In addition, we are a small country and with a high spcam deployment density - Circular warnings, would drive us crazy. Therefore, we prefer and adhere to DIRTYPE and DIRECTION.
