You need to change the mutimode.ini inside the data.zip for analysis [1024x600]
data.zip\ui_android\mutimode.ini ... open and replase the folowing text...

Languages for Primo and NextGen are different. Be sure that you are using correct versions.

I have put a new lang zip in and it is the same.

Wrong guideline. It is not a language problem.
When you select proper language, it is already detected and it is OK. Next step (after language selection) have something bad.
Maybe you didn't clean well your system of previous installation, maybe something of your content have bad file, maybe...who knows..we can guess until tomorrow. Something in your setup is very wrong.

If no success, then consider using NextGen.
1024x600 is damn tricky res, and pain in the *ss to force it work on some devices.
