IGO NEXTGEN - CAMPER MODE

If admins let it I would like to open and have one post just for iGO NEXTGEN Camper. Here we can share Camper POIs and interesting files, ux for Camper mode. I hope this post will be one place for all kinds of issues, pois, functions related to camper mode.

If anybody has some good usefull, camper websites etc please share.

Has anybody tried iGO NEXTGEN in Camper Mode?



After this story with Corona is behind this, I hope people will be able to travel, camp again etc.

It does not mean that we all have to have/rent Camper but just that iGO NEXTGEN offers Camper POIs etc.

• How well does it perform?
• Doest it route in accordance to the profile settings?
• Does it offer any special Camper places, POIs etc?
• Do you have any special POI database to share ADAC, MARCO POLO etc?

sorry, but this is like reinventing the wagon wheel.
The internet is full of POIs, APPs (also free e.g. [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] by PoiBase) and websites (e.g. [Only registered and activated users can see links. ], park4night,promobil,acsi.eu).
And with iGO Nextgen Israel or Palestina; iGO fans have the ideal app that allows POIs to be integrated as KML files

It may be...it is just I have not met anybody that uses IGO as a CAMPER. I was wondering if it works in this mode with trailer dimensions, van and routing rules hmmm

POIs ok...we can find but good ones are paid, free ones are pretty inaccurate und useless.

I just hope this post will be one place for iGO Campers...maybe we can learn something here.

believe me; you are one of the few - especially in Europe - who have no idea about it.
However, an app is used a lot (Campercontact, ACSI) and the point is shared with iGO / Sygic.

And since many copy from each other, a POI is equally accurate or equally imprecise for almost everyone.

As the "inventor" of camping-cars-guide.net, I know what I'm writing about

I use this file in /content/userdata/poi/campercantact.kml and this on the screen.

the problem with converting Campercontact.csv to KML is: the <Placemark> <name> is a line, no <description>, city name at the beginning (iGO doesn't care about the address) and the worst: no separation of campsite, pitch on campsite, Inn Place (B&B), only service, at the winemaker with wine purchase.

Even in the original app, there is still a lot of chaos today.
Example: I am only looking for a place to stand in the parking lot in the evening - and I have to call up countless POIs first to read from the name or description that I am not ending up at a winery, farm, inn or even an expensive campsite. IMO this data buildup doesn't really help much
For this reason I started at the end of 2002 to create files by category and name / description.
The [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] had already solved this better at the beginning of 2000

My collections can be used as samples until the end of 2019 / beginning of 2020

everyone has a different idea, each device a different resolution.
I always recommend using [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] to create the right graphic yourself

But ultimately this is about camper POI and not about icon improvement and design

Are you using NEXTGEN as Camper navi or somethinge else? In case NG how does it perform?
