    help

Hi. I have a 1024x600 screen resolution. I have made a new custom loading screen with this resolution.
I'm using the latest pongo skin with Nextgen world
from what I understand the initial loading.bmp files are located in this file "the_skin_by_pongo.zip"
I searched in the file and have found loading.bmp files only in the "res/common" directory and in the below subdirectories.
The "dark", "bright", "color" directories do not contain the loading.bmp.
The question is where do I put my 1024x600 custom made screen ?
    hdpi
    ldpi
    mdpi
    xhdpi
    xxhdpi
    xxxhdpi

Loading is in the_skin.zip, in ui_nextgen/res/the/dark in resolution subfolder. The image is square, es. 528x528 in xhdpi.
in xxhdpi larger (perhaps 758x758. I think for your resolution you have to consider these subfolders.

So, do I put my 1024x600 loading.bmp file into the xhdpi and xxhdpi folders of only the dark folder? What happens if I puts my custom 1024x600 res loading.bmp in all the res folders ?

1024x600 resolution is between HDPI and XHDPI. In the multimedia center of my car, which has this resolution, it automatically used HDPI, but the icons became small. I had to force the use of DPI = 280, which in the tests was the best size of the icons, on the 9 inch screen.

The software uses the most appropriate folder based on the resolution of the device. Probably like luisresende told you, the software uses the hdpi folder, if you put the loading.bmp in all folders you are sure to see it even if the software uses another folder.

Resolution should not be confused with Density, even changing the dpi value the software continues to use the folder it deems most appropriate, (maybe hdpi).

Changing the dpi values gives an enlargement / reduction of the map view, in fact it does not only concern the icons but also the buttons and everything else, map included.
Usually this operation is necesary only in cases of resolutions outside the "standard".

    Tolisn@

Try firts to hdpi folder. if it doesn't work then xhdpi folder.

    hdpi loading.bmp: 400x400 pixel, 24 bit.
    xhdpi loading.bmp: 533x533 pixel, 24 bit.

    Loading.bmp size from original data.zip..

Here 37 pieces loading ux zip files. citroen, ferrari bmw .. etc..
/Unfortunately I no longer remember where I downloaded it... /

    Loading.bmp size from original data.zip..
Let's stay within this Skin, the dimensions of the bmp images of the loading are, 396x396 pixels in the hdpi folder, and 528x528 pixels in the xhdpi folder.

The original images are bmp in NNG Format and it is better if this format is maintained.

Moreover, what is found in the data is not reliable because over half of what is there is contradicted and bypassed by the various plugins of the ux folder.

The original images are square and smaller than the true resolution of the various folders because in this way they are good for both portrait and landscape view.
Your image 1024x600 loading.bmp might be fine only for landscape view, but not for the portrait one, but if you have a car radio you won't have this inconvenience.
