Not too sure if this will be a help or hindrance but I had more or less the same problem. My setup is a bit different in the way that my head unit runs Android 6.0 and am using the Igo_Pal with Arami's modified skin.

I found the sound issue was nothing to do with Igo, but in the settings of the head unit. Boki_Srb put me on the right tracks.

If you can go into the factory settings, have a look for system volume and radio volume. I found that Igo's sound runs through the system volume, so it was a case of patience and playing with these settings between the radio and system volume to get the balance right between the two. Also, if you have an option in the driving settings to mix or cut radio off, I found the mix works better. The radio volume will drop but Igo will talk through my front right speaker and when finished the radio will come back up.

    It maybe worth a try.

I have a cheap android unit...I have already looked for settings in head unit but there is nothing there that does this....I guess it will have to be done in the sys file...I may have to play with the audio settings

Have sort of tried this...what’s the difference between the numbers...is it the loudness or priority?

many people has this kind of problem... as android car head units become more famous...
In my case , i didnt have this problem until the moment i tryied to install luna pongos skin instead of arimis....
with arimis skin everything works well.. .the tts sound was mixed higher than the musics sound...

after i install pongos skin... settings lost...

1.tryied to experiment with [sound] commands on sys.txt file on both skins... no luck..
2.reinstall vocalizer ([Only registered and activated users can see links. ]) fix settings... no luck
3.work with android head unit factory settings... still no luck....

i hope other members-admins-masters etc have found out a solution for this general sound problem....
Technology is a useful servant but a dangerous master. the only good is when it brings people together.

With Igo Nexgen Israel (NOT with Luna or other versions) if you use the internal TTS engine (folder "tts_nua_ve1" with the files of your preferred language, located in the main folder of Igo) the music of the car radio is lowered correctly when Igo speaks, and restored when he finishes speaking.

Prerequisite: the car radio must have the internal function "Navi remix" or something similar.
This works (at least for me) ONLY with Igo Nextgen Israel, with other versions of Igo Nextgen no, since they do not support the use of "tts_nua_ve1" to manage the TTS.
